Ethan Guevin, Carleton
Carleton College senior pitcher Ethan Guevin (Davis, Calif.) went the distance in defeating #7 St. Thomas by a 2-1 score on Saturday, lowering his ERA to 2.83. It was Carleton's first win over UST since 1995. He limited the Tommies, who entered the contest with a MIAC-best .353 team batting average to only five hits (in 23 at bats for a .217 average during the game). Guevin walked a pair and racked up six strikeouts, the second-highest total by a pitcher against St. Thomas this season. He permitted only two runners to get into scoring position all day and closed out the contest with a perfect seventh frame, including two strikeouts. Guevin also started and tossed 1.0 inning in a win over then-second place Macalester on Tuesday.
