2007 MIAC Volleyball Awards

St. Paul, Minn. -- The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced the 2007 MIAC Volleyball Awards today, October 31, 2007. Leading the 18-player All-Conference team is Bethel University senior outside hitter Liz Glesne. Glesne was named MIAC Most Valuable Player after averaging 4.89 kills per game (181 in 39 games) during conference play.

Carleton's Laura Barsness, Gustavus' Emily Klein, and Concordia's Anna Tinkham were named MIAC Tri-Defensive Players of the Year. It was the second consecutive year that Klein earned the honor. St. Thomas first-year Emily Foster was named the MIAC Rookie of the Year.

St. Thomas head coach Thanh Pham received the MIAC Coach of the Year award. Pham's Tommies went 11-0 in conference play in 2007 and earned the #1 seed in the MIAC Playoffs.

2007 All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team
As part of a conference-wide sportsmanship initiative, the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announces the second annual All-MIAC Sportsmanship team for Volleyball. Members of the All-MIAC Sportsmanship team are selected by their coaches and teammates as individuals who demonstrate ideals of positive sportsmanship both on and off the field of competition.
