St. Paul, Minn. -- The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced the 2007 MIAC Women's Soccer Awards today, November 9, 2007. Leading the 20-player All-Conference team is Macalester College junior forward Grace King. King was named the 2007 MIAC Player of the Year after leading the conference in shots, and finishing second in points, goals, and assists.
Concordia head coach Dan Weiler was chosen as the 2007 MIAC Coach of the Year. Weiler led the Cobbers to their second consecutive MIAC regular season title in 2007.
As part of a conference-wide sportsmanship initiative, the MIAC announces the second annual All-MIAC Sportsmanship team for women's soccer. Members of the All-MIAC Sportsmanship team are selected by their coaches and teammates as individuals who demonstrate ideals of positive sportsmanship both on and off the field of competition.
Player of the Year - Grace King, Macalester (Jr., F, Northampton, Mass.)
Coach of the Year - Dan Weiler, Concordia (6th season)
