2007-08 MIAC Men's Hockey Awards

St. Paul, Minn. -- The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced the 2007-08 MIAC Men's Hockey Awards today, February 27, 2008. Hamline University juniors Dustin Fulton and Joe Long were named MIAC Co-Players of the Year for the 2007-08 season. Fulton led the conference in point scoring and goal scoring, finishing with 14 goals and 18 assists for 32 points. Long led the MIAC in power play goals with eight and finished 10th in the league in point scoring with 13 goals and seven assists for 20 points.

Hamline head coach Scott Bell was chosen as the 2007-08 MIAC Coach of the Year. Hamline captured the 2007-08 MIAC regular season title under the direction of Bell with a 11-3-2 record. The last MIAC Championship for the Pipers occurred in the 1947-48 season.

As part of a conference-wide sportsmanship initiative, the MIAC announces the second annual All-MIAC Sportsmanship team for men's hockey. Members of the All-MIAC Sportsmanship team are selected by their coaches and teammates as individuals who demonstrate ideals of positive sportsmanship both on and off the field of competition.
