2005 MIAC Men's Cross Country Awards

MIAC Cross Country Coaches of the Year
Paul Schmaedeke of Hamline was selected the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men’s cross country coach of the year. Schmaedeke's Pipers captured their first title since 1977 on Saturday, October 29th at Como Park in St. Paul. The Pipers finished first out of the eleven participating teams at the competition with 32 points. The Pipers had five of the top ten finishers in the meet with Jeff Metzdorff, Travis Bristow, Brandon Gleason, Tony Klappa, and Dan Steinbrecher all finishing in the top ten.

MIAC Men’s Athlete of the Year
St. Olaf College senior Sam Hauck (Shoreview, Minn./Concordia Academy) claimed the MIAC individual title racing a 25:50 over the 8K course at Como Park Golf Course in St. Paul. He led the Oles to a third place finish in the MIAC Championships.
